Club Structure

Members of Enigma Gymnastics Club are organised into groups according to their age, gender, ability, experience and individual needs. Integrated into our programme of classes is our Jump Up, Jump Down section of our Club. This programme is in partnership with Disability Sport Fife.

Our Head Coach welcomes parental discussion around training programmes and your child’s needs with you as well as the gymnast themselves.

All children participate in the National Gymnastics Awards Programme during class time. The programme is structured using apparatus and skills being performed on vault, bars, beam gym, beam acro, floor gym, floor shapes, floor acro and body prep. Children, dependent on age and ability, are assessed on the skills they have been practising during classes. Along with their coaches, children select the most suitable award to work on.

There are 2 different schemes in use and these are dependent on age and ability:

  1. The Early Years Scheme contains two levels involving a programme of basic skills, coordination and introduction to the gymnastics environment:

A) Little Gem has theme based learning (Space, Circus, Underwater, Explorer, Weather, Seaside, Jungle and Pirate). There are eight different themes with ideas of how to make movements fun and imaginative. Each theme has eight skills.

B) Junior Gem has eight sections (levels 1-8) with twelve moves in each – (10 out of 12 to pass a level), working on skills on vault, bars, beam gym, beam acro, floor gym, floor shapes, floor acro and body prep

  1. The Standard Scheme contains four levels (Emerald, Sapphire, Ruby and Diamond) and has a Girls section as well as a Boys section. Each level has eight different sections of apparatus with twelve skills to complete in each (10 out of 12 to pass).

- Girl’s sections are:

- Vault, Bars, Beam Gym, Beam Acro, Floor Gym, Floor Shapes, Floor Acro and Body Prep

- Boy’s sections are:

- Vault, Bar, Parallel Bars, Mixed Apparatus, Upper body & Gym, Floor Shapes, Floor Acro and Body Prep.

Once gymnasts pass an award, their achievement will be rewarded with a medal in recognition of their success. There is no cost to receive this medal. We will mark their achievement by taking photographs and posting on social media.

British/Scottish Gymnastics memberships are renewed on 1st October each year. This membership must be in place before the participant actively takes part in our training sessions.
